THE HEART BEHIND THE LENS
Paige Metcalf
Along the way, I’ve found a beautiful community of creatives who inspire me, challenge me, and remind me why I love what I do. But at the heart of it all are the people I get to serve. You are the reason behind every photograph, every film, every late-night edit, and every little detail I pour my heart into.
I believe the best photographs and films begin with genuine connection. So while I’m there to document your memories, I’m also there to make you feel comfortable, cared for, celebrated, and completely present in the moment. I want the experience to feel just as meaningful as the photographs you take home—joyful, effortless, and full of the little moments that make it yours.
At the end of the day, it’s about more than a gallery or a film. It’s about preserving a season of life that you’ll one day look back on with grateful hearts and full eyes.
It is, truly, one of the greatest blessings to play a small part in telling some of life’s most beautiful love stories—and I’ll never take that for granted.
My love for storytelling began long before I ever knew it could become a career. I was the girl who always had a camera in hand—turning ordinary afternoons into photoshoots, convincing my friends to be the stars, and directing homemade cooking shows that I edited in iMovie and proudly burned onto CDs (which, somehow, I still have today).
I think I’ve always been drawn to the little things worth remembering—the laughter, the in-between moments, the stories that unfold without a script. What started as childhood creativity slowly grew into something much bigger: a calling to preserve the moments that make life feel like life.
At Grand Valley State University, I pursued degrees in Film & Video Production and Photography, where I fell in love with documentary-style storytelling and the beauty of capturing things exactly as they happen. No rehearsals, no second chances—just real people, real connection, and the fleeting moments that become the ones we hold onto forever.
That same heart for honest storytelling is what I bring to every wedding I photograph today.
FOR THE LOVE OF IT ALL
Somewhere along the way, that love for honest storytelling naturally found its way to weddings—a place where every fleeting glance, happy tear, belly laugh, and hand squeeze holds a story of its own.
I believe marriage is one of life’s greatest gifts, and there is something incredibly special about being invited into the beginning of such a sacred, joy-filled chapter. To me, wedding photography isn’t just about creating beautiful images. It’s about preserving the feeling of the day—the people you love most, the moments you never saw coming, and all the little in-betweens that make your story yours.
My approach is rooted in letting your day unfold naturally. I’ll be there to document the quiet moments and the loud ones, the perfectly planned details and the beautifully imperfect ones. I want your photographs to feel honest, timeless, and deeply personal—to look back years from now and feel like you’re right there again.
And on the flip side… I’m also your professional third wheel and full-time hype girl. I get very excited about wedding days (I just really love love). I’ll be there fixing your veil, fluffing your dress, keeping an eye on the timeline, reminding you to soak it all in, and celebrating right alongside you.
Because when you feel comfortable, cared for, and fully present, that’s when the magic happens. My job is to capture it—but also to help create the kind of space where you can simply be in it.
For years, photography and videography lived somewhere between a passion and a side hustle—something I poured my heart into whenever I could. Then, in January 2024, I took a leap of faith and officially launched Paige Metcalf Creative.
What has happened since has been more than I could have dreamed up for myself. What started as a little idea has grown into a business, a community, and a collection of stories I feel incredibly lucky to be trusted with. I’m endlessly grateful for the doors God has opened, the people He has placed in my path, and every couple who has allowed me to step into one of the most meaningful days of their lives.
